QR Codes for Warranty Registration

A warranty QR code can take a buyer from the box or receipt to a registration form. It can reduce the amount of typing needed to find the right product page, but it doesn’t register the product or prove when it was purchased. The form and your service process do that work.

Build the registration page first

Explain what the buyer is registering, what information you need, and where to find the model or serial number. Keep the form focused. If you ask for contact details, state how they will be used and link to the relevant privacy information.

Before adding a field, ask whether the team uses it to identify the product or provide service. A model number and purchase date may be needed; a marketing subscription is a separate choice and should be presented as one. Use a confirmation page that tells the buyer whether registration is complete and how to contact support if they made a mistake.

Be clear about the warranty terms and any purchase documentation the buyer should keep. Terms and consumer rights vary by market, so link to the terms that apply to the buyer’s location and have them reviewed by the appropriate person in your organisation.

Once the form is live, copy its public URL and paste it into the Link option in BlissQR’s QR code editor. Add a plain label such as “Register this product”. Download the artwork and test it from a phone that isn’t signed into the form owner’s account.

For product families, choose a route that identifies the correct model. That can be a separate code per model or one page where the buyer selects the model. Don’t encode personal data or a buyer’s serial number into a public QR code.

Example selection flow: choose the product family, select the model printed on the label, then enter the serial number and purchase details in the secure registration form. Keep those details in form fields rather than embedding them in the QR URL.

If the same package design serves several markets, the landing page should direct buyers to the terms and registration process that apply to their product. Keep the page current when the form or warranty process changes, and assign an owner to check old packaging before another print run.

Check the form before production

Submit a test registration and confirm that the buyer sees a clear confirmation. Check that staff can find the record, that the product and purchase details are stored as intended, and that required fields are practical on a phone. If the form asks for a serial number, show where to find it.

Print a short URL beside the code. Keep the form URL and artwork version with the packaging specification so a product update doesn’t leave a code pointing to an old page. For model-specific manuals and setup information, see QR codes for product manuals.
